ABOUT THE PLUNGE

SATURDAY MAR. 14 | 11AM

BURLINGTON WATERFRONT

One moment of cold creates countless moments of joy!

ONE MOMENT OF COLD,
COUNTLESS MOMENTS OF JOY

The Special Olympics Vermont Penguin Plunge is a beloved annual tradition that brings together over 1,000 Vermonters who bravely jump into the freezing waters of Lake Champlain—all to support over 2,900 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Vermont.

Now in its 31st year, the Penguin Plunge has become more than just a fundraiser; it’s a powerful community event that promotes inclusion, unity, and celebration of ability. The funds raised provide year-round sports training, competitions, and health programming for Special Olympics Vermont athletes. It’s a meaningful way for the community to come together, make a difference, and show that everyone belongs.
